Expert Selling Guides
Photography Guide
Use a matte dark background with direct, bright overhead light. Do not use flash as it obscures holo swirls and hides surface abrasions, causing buyers to suspect flaws.
Shipping & Packing
Never place a card raw in a top-loader. Slip it inside a soft penny sleeve first, slide it into the top-loader, and tape a piece of cardboard on both sides to prevent bending during transit.
Raw vs Graded
Grading is expensive. Only grade if the card has high vintage value and a high chance of scoring a 9 or 10. For modern, common inserts, selling raw is usually more profitable.
Scam Avoidance
Never ship to unverified addresses. Always film the packaging and sealing process for high-value items, and only use payment processors that offer seller protection.
Bulk Selling Strategy
When liquidating standard commons and uncommons, combine them into set lots or "mystery packs". Collectors and deck builders buy these in bulk. Price your bulk lots at fixed rates per 1,000 cards depending on the game category (typically $5 - $15 for standard vintage or competitive modern cards).
High-Value Card Strategy
For items worth more than $200, opt for specialized trading card auctions or consignment services (like PWCC or Heritage). They handle authentication, display, and insurance, shielding you from refund fraud while accessing high-end buyers.
